Product Safety Recall Notice

UPDATE: The item recalled in the following notice may be exchanged at the New England Scout Shop in Lancaster. 

The Boy Scouts of America has received this letter relating to defects in the Cub Scout Immediate Recognition kit (Item No. 01804). A picture of the item is below.

The Boy Scouts of America has directed all of its Scout Shops and all retailers who sell the product to remove it from their shelves immediately and return it to the National Supply Division.

2008 Popcorn Sale Kickoff

The kickoff for the 2008 Popcorn Sale will be held Monday, May 19, 7:00 PM at the Council Service Center. This meeting is for unit leaders, committee members and popcorn sale coordinators.

Information on the 2008 Trails End Popcorn sale, the benefits to your Troop, Pack or Crew, Show n' Sell and Take Orders will be available. The popcorn sale can be a tremendous fundraising opportunity for your unit. Come to the kickoff and learn more.
 

 
Mass Jam 2008 Online Registration
 Online registration for Mass Jam 2008 is now available. Visit www.massjam.org and follow the Online Registration link.
 
Board approves $8,500 for new equipment

At its regular meeting on March 26, 2008,  the Nashua Valley Council Board of Directors approved $8,500 for new equipment purchases to support the 2008 Cub Scout Day Camp program at Camp Split Rock.

Scouting For Food Bags Available
5000 plastic bags have been donated for this year's Scouting for Food effort. Those units collecting for Scouting for Food may pick up bags at the Council Service Center.

Council commits $35K to new program equipment

At its November 28, 2007 meeting, the Nashua Valley Council Board of Directors approved an operating budget for 2008 that includes a $35,000 capital expenditure to upgrade and purchase new program equipment at Camp Wanocksett. This decision represents the most significant investment in new program equipment at Wanocksett in five years and demonstrates Nashua Valley Council's continued committment to excellence in our camping programs.

New Membership Applications Available

New adult and youth membership applications are available at the Council Service Center. The new applications are designed to work with a new electronic data entry system.

Unit leaders are requested to dispose of any old membership applications and begin using the new forms immediately. The new forms are a full page (8x11) size, as opposed to the old, smaller half page forms.
