When: Wednesday, June 26, 2013
Where: Townsend Ridge Country Club www.townsendridge.com

2013 marks the 22nd year for the Moore Family, Moore Lumber Co./Billiards Cafe Boy Scout golf tournament. With your past support this event has raised over $320,000 for the support of Nashua Valley Council's programs and activities for young leaders to build character, train in the responsibilities of participating citizens, and to develop personal fitness. See the registration brochure for more details, registration, and sponsorship opportunities.

Introduced in 1931, the Silver Beaver Award is the highest honor a council may present. The Silver Beaver is awarded to those who implement the Scouting program and perform exceptional service to youth through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. The Nashua Valley Council is honored to recognize our 2013 class of Silver Beaver recipients:

  • Kathleen Bourassa
  • Roderick Cashes
  • James Gareffi, Jr.

The Silver Beaver awards, along with other service and tenure awards will be presented at the 2013 Awards Reception and Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 12, at Wachusett Mountain Lodge. All Scouting volunteers, and friends are cordially invited to help us recognize our outstanding volunteers.

Since February, Nashua Valley Council, and the Boy Scouts of America as a whole, have been engaged in a thorough review of our organization's membership policies. This is the first time in the history of our organization that such an outreach has been made to our members, our chartering partners, and our community supporters on such a complex issue. We are grateful to all those who provided input and passionate feedback to that process.

Nashua Valley Council is announcing an exciting new partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster to offer day camp opportunities for Cub Scouts this summer. The program will include a longer, 6-week season; a lower price, with breakfast and lunch included; options for a 9AM - 5PM day, or an 8AM - 6 PM day for more flexibility; and a location closer to home to reduce transportation time.
