By now all units should have received an email containing instructions for completing your unit's 2014 charter renewal. Training for volunteers with rechartering responsibilities was offered at the December roundtable. If you missed that training opportunity the information that was presented is available for download. Charter renewals are due by January 15, 2014. Completing your charter renewal on time will ensure that there is no interruption in your unit's advancement processing and insurance coverage.

Nashua Valley Council is pleased to welcome Matthew Ghirarda to the Nashua Valley Council staff. Matt will be assuming the position of Senior District Executive for Wachusett District on December 1.
Matt grew up in Scouting in Somerville, MA and served in two other New England councils before joining Nashua Valley. His experience and leadership will be a strong addition to our district leadership team and will help us continue to strengthen support for our volunteers and Scouting units, and grow Scouting in Wachusett district and throughout our council.
Please join us in welcoming Matt and his wife Danielle to the Nashua Valley Council family.
1. Recruit 1 more youth than last year and your unit will receive a free weekend at Camp Wanocksett or Camp Split Rock.
2. Recruit 5 more youth than last year and your unit will receive a free weekend at camp and a free district activity.
3. Recruit 6 or more youth than last year and receive all of the above, plus a $250 gift card for the Lancaster Scout Shop.
All incentives are based on paid applications received on or before November 1, 2013 by close of business.
A unit's recruiting number is based on membership records for your unit from September 1 through the end-of-year membership on December 31. Example: On August 30 your unit had 20 boys. On December 31 your unit had 25 boys, you recruited 5 new boys. Therefore you need to recruit 6, 10, or 11 boys to be eligible for these incentives.
On Sunday, September 22, twenty two Scouts from Nashua Valley Council were presented the Ad Altare Dei, Scouting's Roman Catholic religious award. Awards were presented at a celebratory mass at St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Westminster.
