MassJam 2013

On Columbus Day weekend, 2013 thousands of Scouts, Webelos, and Venturers from Massachusetts and surrounding states will descend on the Barnstable Country fairgrounds in East Falmouth, Massachusetts for three days of Scouting fun, exhibits, challenging activities, competitions, entertainment, and fellowship.

Nine Massachusetts councils, and Naragansett Council in Rhode Island, with support from the Barnstable County Fairgrounds, the town of Falmouth, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are participating in the planning of this event. Activities will include: Air rifles, archery, climbing walls, first air, geocaching, the New England Revolution, pioneering, robotics, and rocketry.

Mark the date on your Troop, Pack, or Crew calendar and watch www.massjam.org for developing plans.

The first MassJam was held in 1985 at the Tewksbury State Hospital in Tewksbury, MA. MassJam moved to its current home at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds in East Falmouth in 1993. Subsequent MassJams were held in 1999, 2004, and 2008.

Nashua Valley Council has committed to staffing several areas including a sub-camp support staff, a pioneering program area, and the theme show.
