Nashua Valley Council has received a $30,000 grant from the George Magee Trust Fund to purchase a new truck for the use at Camp Wanocksett & Camp Split Rock to support the programs offered during the year.
Council Vice President of Properties Steve Wayne, Executive Director Gary Savignano, and District Executive Jared Wayne made a formal presentation to the Magee Trust committee in support of the grant. Their presentation included pictures of the recently renovated Magee cabin at Camp Split Rock, as well as pictures of the new basketball court, volleyball pit, and archery field shed at Camp Wanocksett. The 2012 grant funded the improvements to the Camp Wanocksett field sports program, and the trustees were very impressed with the dedication of the volunteers in the council.
The new truck will replace the aging "Big Blue" which has served the camps and the council for 18 years. Thank you to the volunteers and professional staff who helped make this grant possible.
