Adult Training

Nashua Valley Council offers numerous training courses throughout the year to prepare our volunteers to deliver the Scouting program. Most training is free to participants. Nashua Valley also partners with neighboring councils to make training available to our volunteers.

Where: Treasure Valley Scout Reservation, Rutland, MA

Wood Badge is the premier leadership training course offered by the Boy Scouts of America. During this six-day course, you will learn — and practice — all of the skills you need to be the best Scouting volunteer you can be. Nashua Valley Council partners with Knox Trail and Mohegan Councils as part of the Central Massachusett Wood Badge Cluster to offer this training. For more information about this course visit

Register online at Registration requires a $90 deposit which will be applied to the course fee of $300. Full payment is due by July 10, 2014.

Cost: $40 covers food and training materials

You must attend both sessions to complete the course.

This is required training for those who wish to fill the new Leave No Trace Position of Responsibility in their unit. For youth who are going to fill a unit’s Leave No Trace Trainer Position, Nashua Valley Council strongly recommends that the troop pay for this required training.

Basic, position specific training for Cub Scout leaders is now available online at This includes training for: Tiger Den Leaders, Wolf Den Leaders, Bear Den Leaders, Webelos Den Leaders, Cubmaster, Pack Trainer, and Pack Committee. Cub Scout leaders are considered to be fully trained once they have completed the following courses: This is Scouting, Cub Scout Fast Start, Cub Scout Leader Position-Specific, and Youth Protection.
