Youth Training

Training youth in leadership skills that will serve them throughout their lives is an integral part of the Boy Scout's mission. Nashua Valley Council offers youth training courses throughout the year. Nashua Valley Council also partners with neighboring councils to make training available to youth.

A Den Chief is a Boy Scout who assists a Cub Scout den leader or Webelos den leader at den meetings, pack meetings, and other events. He's a ready source of games, songs, skits, and skills. He helps encourage boys in their advancement.

This one-day training is intended for those Boy Scouts who would like to serve in a leadership position while giving service to brother Cub Scouts. Elements of this training include:

  • Your job as a Den Chief
  • How to use and lead games
  • How to lead songs
  • Working with Cub Scouts and den leaders
  • Seven parts of a successful den meeting
  • Five parts of a successful Webelos meeting
  • Den Chief responsibilities

This training will be held at the council service center in Lancaster. Bring a bag lunch.
