Welcome back to Camp Wanocksett. Since 1924 tens of thousands of young people have enjoyed summers as campers and staff on the shores of Thorndike Pond. Many of those campers have moved on to families and careers. Others have relocated to other parts of the country. Some are local and continue to support Camp Wanocksett today.


We treasure the memories of our time at Camp Wanocksett. We recognize that Scout summer camp was a unique experience that helped our personal development and enriched our childhood. Today, through Camp Wanocksett, Nashua Valley Council continues to make these same rich experiences available to the next generation of young people.


We invite all of our camp alumni, former staffers, parents, and friends to support the Wanocksett Experience, for today's youth and for generations to come.

Camp Alumni Association launched

In September of 2007, Nashua Valley Council officially launched the Camp Alumni Association to reconnect with campers, staff and leaders from the past and create opportunities to support the future of the camps of the Nashua Valley Council.

Our Mission

Camp Wanocksett is one of the premier Boy Scout summer camps in the Northeast Region. Our staff and volunteers are committed to providing the best summer camp experience possible to every boy who walks through our gates.


The Alumni Association seeks to support this effort; to ensure that the scouts of today and tomorrow may have the same rich experiences that left such a deep impression on our lives.

Our mission and purpose is:

  • To support the growth and progress of Nashua Valley Council's summer camping programs
  • To unite the past, present and future camp alumni and friends
  • To preserve the history and tradition of the summer camp experience

Association Leadership

The Camp Alumni Association is a recognized organization of the Nashua Valley Council, Boy Scouts of America. It is lead by an operating committee appointed annually by the Council President and approved by the Council Board of Directors. The operating committee members are:

  • Chairperson
  • Secretary
  • Council Vice President
  • Council Camping Chairperson
  • 3 Members at Large

The operating committee is responsible for communication with members and recommending disbursement of Association funds.

Membership Benefits

By joining the Camp Alumni Association you will be joining with others who care about camping and are earnest in their support of our camp priorities.
 Alumni Association members will receive:

  • Semi-annual newsletters with news of current interest to our alumni community.
  • Invitations to special alumni events including fellowships, reunions and service opportunities.
  • Regular updates on new projects and improvements at Camp Wanocksett

In addition to the personal benefits, your membership will allow the Alumni Association to:

  • Fund camperships for area Scouts to attend summer camp.
  • Purchase program equipment.
  • Contribute to capital improvement projects.
