Welcome to Camp Split Rock

Welcome to Camp Split Rock, the home of Nashua Valley Council's Cub Scout Day Camp programs. Since 1993 cub scouts have enjoyed summers beneath the towering oaks and pines on the shores of Lake Winnekeag, in Ashburnham, MA. New friends, new skills and a foundation of strong values to last a lifetime await boys attending Cub Scout Day Camp.

Preparing Split Rock for the next 100 years

Your support is needed for renovations at Camp Split Rock.

Thanks to the efforts of the summer camp staff and the volunteers from the properties committee, and the Order of the Arrow, this summer saw a tremendous amount of work completed at Camp Split Rock. Buildings have been painted, the dining hall floor received a much-needed refinishing, renovations were completed in the trading post, new lighting was installed in the lower level of Magee cabin, and trail work was completed throughout the camp. This was just one step in an ongoing effort to rehabilitate the facilities at Camp Split Rock to meet the needs of our Cub Scout day camp program and our year-round visitors as we usher Scouting into its second century.

The next step in this effort is a complete renovation of Magee Cabin (on the lakeshore by the dam) that will include new windows and doors, significant structural repairs, fresh insulation and interior walls. In order to complete this renovation Nashua Valley Council has set a special fund-raising goal of $5000. We need your help to reach this goal.

We are fortunate to have two fantastic camping facilities in our Council. The routine upkeep and maintenance of these facilities represents a significant cost. Undertaking major renovation and building projects requires additional funding beyond what is budgeted for annual maintenance. These funds come from donations from units, and individuals, and from grants. We need the help of every pack who attended Day Camp and every troop who has spent a weekend at Camp Split Rock to reach our goal and complete this project. A donation of $100 from every troop, pack or crew in the Council will get us there. A contribution of any amount will help. Many troops, packs and crews have already contributed to this project.  Please lend your support today.

Contributions can be sent to the Council Office. Volunteers are ready to start work as soon as soon as we reach our fund-raising goal.
