Welcome to Camp Split Rock, the home of Nashua Valley Council's Cub Scout Day Camp programs. Since 1993 cub scouts have enjoyed summers beneath the towering oaks and pines on the shores of Lake Winnekeag, in Ashburnham, MA. New friends, new skills and a foundation of strong values to last a lifetime await boys attending Cub Scout Day Camp.

Interviews for junior staff, under 18 years of age, will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 8 am to 12 pm at the Nashua Valley Council Service Center. Please contact the Nashua Valley Council office to schedule an appointment.
An orientation for CIT applicants will be conducted in the Spring. |

It has come to our attention that two application deadlines were listed in the 2010 CIT application. Nashua Valley Council appologizes for any confusion this may have caused. Please be aware that the application deadline for Counselors-In-Training (CITs) is March 1, 2010. An orientation meeting for CIT applicants and their parents will be held in the April/May timeframe. Applicants will receive a notice of this meeting and details will be posted on the camp Web site. |

Nashua Valley Council is pleased to announce the appointment of George Crochiere of Pepperell, MA as the Camp Director for the 2010 Cub Scout Day Camp at Camp Split Rock. George is an Eagle Scout who grew up in the Scouting program of Pioneer Valley Council in western, Massachusetts. He is now the father of twin Tiger Cubs and a Den Leader in Pack 14. As Camp Director, George hopes to help pass on the lessons Scouting taught him to his sons, and other boys. He comes to Nashua Valley Council with a background in marketing and love of the outdoors.
George is already at work, with the Camping Committee and Scout Executive, to begin hiring the 2010 summer camp staff and start planning next summer's day camp programs. |

Thank you to everyone who completed the Day Camp evaluation and the summer camp interest survey. These surveys are now closed, and the results have been forwarded to the Nashua Valley Council Camping Committee for review. Your feedback will help us continue to provide the best summer camp experiences possible for our Scouts.
