Ice storm damage at Split Rock and Wanocksett

Camp Wanocksett and Camp Split Rock have both experienced damage from the recent ice storm. Both camps are currently without power and therefore without functional well pumps and running water. Damage to cabins has been minimal. Units with reservations at either camp should contact the Council Service Center before proceeding with your plans.

Our properties committee is still assessing the damage to electrical lines and local electric companies are still working to restore power to the affected areas. There is currently no estimate as to when electricity will be restored to the camps. Volunteer assistance to help cleanup downed limps and fallen trees around cabins and campsites is welcome. Volunteers should coordinate with the properties committee and camp rangers. Anyone visiting the camps are reminded to treat all downed wires as potentially live and dangerous, and to be cautious of overhanging branches.

Unit recharter packets available

Unit recharter packets containing the necessary forms to complete your unit's annual charter renewal are available from your District Executive or at the Council Service Center during normal business hours. Charter renewals must be completed and returned to the Council Service Center, with the required signatures and payments, no later than January 31, 2009.

Charters may be renewed online by clicking the "Online Rechartering" link on the right hand side of this page. Charters completed online must still return the printed report, signature page and payments to the Council Service Center to complete the renewal process.

New Web Site Launched

Welcome to the new Nashua Valley Council Web site. In an ongoing effort to better serve our customers, the council and summer camp Web sites have undergone a thorough upgrade and revision. In addition to a clean, new look, the site has been reorganized to make it easier to find what you need with fewer clicks. The Web site also now incorporates a newly revised Grand Monadnock Lodge Web site containing all the information you need about the Order of the Arrow in Nashua Valley Council. All of this has been undertaken as a first step to providing more services to our members through our Web site.  Watch for new features being added in the near future.

If you have bookmarks to areas on the old site, you will need to update them as articles and files have been reorganized. If you have subscribed to our RSS news feed, you will need to update that subscription as the RSS address has changed.
