In May the members of Nashua Valley and Mohegan Councils voted to bring our two councils together to better support our Scouting units in central Massachusetts. Since then, volunteers and staff have been working hard, behind the scenes, to build the foundation of our new council.

Our Scouting family and our community supporters will have the opportunity to come together for the first time; to meet the new officers, board members, and our new Scout Executive, as well as the dedicated volunteers from our two legacy councils who make Scouting happen; to catch the vision for our new council and the future of Scouting in central Massachusetts.

The program will include:

  • Dinner
  • The presentation of Venturing Leadership, Outstanding Eagle Scout, Northstar, and Silver Beaver awards.
  • The unveiling of our new council shoulder patch, website, and social media channels

We hope you’ll join us as we begin to write the story of Heart of New England Council!

Prior to dinner, a special business meeting for voting members of the council will take place in an adjacent room. If you will only be attending the business meeting, there is no charge or registration.

MassJam2018

On Columbus Day weekend, 2018 thousands of Scouts, Webelos, and Venturers from Massachusetts and surrounding states will descend on the Cape Cod fairgrounds in East Falmouth, Massachusetts for three days of Scouting fun, exhibits, challenging activities, competitions, entertainment, and fellowship.

Seven councils from Massachusetts and Rhode Island, the Cape Cod Fairgrounds, the town of Falmouth, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are participating in the planning of this event.

The first MassJam was held in 1985 on the grounds of the Tewksbury State Hospital in Tewksbury, MA. MassJam moved to its current home at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds in East Falmouth in 1993. Subsequent MassJams were held in 1999, 2003, 2008, and 2013.

Mass Jam is for Boy Scouts and Venturers attending as part of a participating troop or crew. Webelos may attend as guests of a participating troop.
